In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Unbeatable central location — Directly on Gran Vía, with Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace and two metro stations within minutes on foot.
  • Pet-friendly philosophy — Pets are welcomed with amenities like bowls, treats and food, so your dog is treated as a guest too.
  • Highly rated breakfast — Guests repeatedly praise the breakfast buffet for its variety and fresh options, including a healthy corner.
  • Friendly and helpful staff — From reception to the breakfast team, guests mention attentive service and useful local recommendations.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Rooms show their age — Some guests note dated decor, worn walls, and maintenance issues like broken shower screens or faulty hydromassage.
  • Weak soundproofing — Noise from neighbouring rooms travels easily, which can disturb light sleepers.
  • Variable room quality — While some rooms are newly renovated, others need attention — so you may want to request a refurbished one.
  • No on-site parking — The hotel doesn't list parking, so plan for public garages or street parking in the busy centre.

“Breakfast was among the best I've had — plenty of choice and everything tasted fresh. The staff were brilliant and helped me plan which sights to prioritise. My room was snug and comfortable, and the bed was genuinely great. I'd recommend it without hesitation.”

8.3Verified guest

“Breakfast met expectations with healthy options that suited everyone, and the room was bright with a king bed.”

“Everything here is very good — this was my second stay and it was just as enjoyable. The welcome is warm and attentive, and the location is superb, just minutes from a big city square and surrounded by shops and metro stops. The downstairs bar is a bonus.”

8.3Verified guest

“The location is fantastic, just a few metres from Gran Vía, and you can't hear the traffic or crowds. Gran Vía and Callao metro stations are both within walking distance, and there are theatres, cinemas and restaurants nearby. The staff are very friendly, the lemonade on arrival is a nice touch, and the corridors are quiet — even with construction next door, you hear nothing.”

“We gave an envelope to Nazareth at reception, who welcomed us with a smile and shared useful information. But the room (206) needs attention: a broken shower screen that wouldn't close, a hydromassage shower that didn't work properly, stained joints and grubby edges. Though it's set up for four, we were only two — and I wouldn't want to try four. The wardrobe left our suitcase dirty. The walls could do with a fresh coat of paint, and the soundproofing is non-existent — you feel like the neighbours are in your room. Other rooms may vary, but ours needs real improvement. The best part was reception. This isn't meant as destructive criticism, just an honest account.”

“The location made exploring Madrid's streets easy, and the breakfast spread each morning was excellent — fresh pastries and plenty of variety. Staff were consistently helpful and friendly with recommendations.”
